Latour ran his own weekly newspaper at the age of 20, and then his own advertising firm. As self-taught painter, Latour developed a passion for the use of printing inks, which he made his preferred medium of expression. Arcade Latour also became renowned for designing the papamobile used during the 1984 visit of Pope John Paul II.<\/p>\n<h3>Artistic Approach<\/h3>\n<p>Discovery of printing inks was a decisive moment and the start of a great adventure for Arcade Latour.<br \/>\nHe thus had to master a little-used medium which, when applied with a spatula, offers a wide variety and density of color and a vigorously structured texture, yet requiring a long drying period.<br \/>\nOn his canvases, which can be immense, Arcade Latour gives shape and carves inks that will thicken as they dry and reveal luminous hues and textures.<\/p>\n<h3>International Stature<\/h3>\n<p>Already very popular in Quebec and Canada, Arcade Latour has presented his work in various Exhibitions abroad as well. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seoul, South Korea, December 2016<\/li>\n<li>Miami, Florida, USA, November 2016<\/li>\n<li>Exco, South Korea, November 2016<\/li>\n<li>Paris, France, October 2016<\/li>\n<li>Montreal, Quebec, Canada, September 2016<\/li>\n<li>Montreal, Quebec, Canada, June 2016<\/li>\n<li>Paris, France, June 2016<\/li>\n<li>Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, May 2016<\/li>\n<li>Indian Wells, California, USA, March 2016<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Arcade Latour&#8217;s original, avant-garde work earned him the Grand Prix du Design International, 16th edition, 2023, for his mastery of industrial inks on canvas.<\/p>\n<p>Arcade Latour&#8217;s work is on permanent display at <em>Galerie Richelieu<\/em> in Montreal. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this digital age and era of virtual reality, artist Arcade Latour offers intriguing works of intense colour created through the use of the age-old medium that is printer&#8217;s ink.<\/p>\n<p>Latour discovered this medium and its potential while still a teenager.
