![]() In the context of the ARTFERIA program of FESTIVALISSIMO, Montreal's iberoamerican cultural festival, Galerie Richelieu presents, in the heart of Montreal, Espace Alexis Nihon, recent works from some of its artists of Latin American origin:
Françoise Couture The textures in Françoise Couture's artwork, her warm colours, her characters, her interiors or her still lives will seduce you. If you like quality work, with a distinctive technical side, you will be pleased to discover her recent production that will certainly enrich your home.
Charles Carson A meeting always appreciated with one of Quebec's contemporary masters. Back from well attended exhibitions in France, Charles Carson will welcome you in total simplicity, surrounded by a complete collection of his colourful artwork, of both 'carsonism' and 'mosaic' style. Not to be missed. Diane St-Georges An impressive series of pieces; delicate women portraits bring us back to the special atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties and early Thirties. Aquamedias on masonite. Dakapô Through a rare density of colours, Karine Dagenais conveys the exhiliration of floral life, an elation and exhuberance that illuminate our daily lives and embellish our souls. Samir El Arbi Portraits, gracious ballerinas, sailboats, horses, race cars, they all compete in spontaneity and movement when Samir delivers with a colourful and flowing gesture the result of his observations. Patricia Nguyen M. Huong Giving life on her canvases to land and cityscapes, still lifes and happy musicians, to which she does not fail to give a subtle exotic touch,
Patricia Nguyen entices us to rediscover our environment. With her communicative liveliness, she points out the merry side of things. And, with a movement of her cheerful brush,
she underscores with much talent the aspects that suprise or amuse her. The art of Patricia Nguyen stands out for her curious mix of vibrant colours, fizzy brushstrokes, and pastel or impressionist expanses. Hugo Barajas His work is deliberately actual and well anchored in modernity although it oddly recalls the large stained-glass windows of the gothic cathedrals.
There is warmth in the brushstrokes of this artist of Mexican origin. One finds the intensity and ardour latin painters have used us to,
imbued with the ardent colours of sun-drenched countries. Astri Reusch Michel Monette Chantal De Serres ![]() Lisette Tardy ![]() Meet the SHONA culture, Sunday, June 10, from 1 to 5 p.m. Exhibition, June 8 to 21 SHONA stone sculptures (multiple artists)
